the spiral

The spiral is one of the oldest symbols known to humanity. It appears across cultures, in nature, and within our own bodies.

You see it in:

  • the unfurling of a fern
  • the shape of a shell
  • the movement of galaxies
  • the rhythm of breath

The spiral is not random. It reflects a fundamental pattern of life.

Unlike the linear path, forward, goal-oriented, structured. The spiral moves differently. It returns. Again and again. But never to the exact same place.

This is where the spiral becomes deeply connected to womb wisdom and the feminine.

The feminine does not move in straight lines. It moves in cycles:

  • menstrual cycles
  • lunar cycles
  • emotional cycles
  • seasons of expansion and contraction

In astrology, the energy of the lunar cycle mirrors this perfectly. Each month, we move through phases of:

  • inward reflection
  • growth
  • expression
  • release

And then… we begin again. But we are not the same.

The spiral teaches us that:
repetition is not failure
returning is not regression

It is deepening.

This is especially important in healing work. Whether through yoga, plant medicine, or inner emotional processes, we often meet the same themes again and again.

Old wounds, old patterns and old emotions.

From a linear perspective, this can feel frustrating:
“why am I here again?”

But from the spiral perspective, something else is happening.

You are meeting the same place with more awareness, more softness and more capacity.

You are not looping. You are spiraling.

And the womb, energetically, understands this.

It holds cycles.
It holds rhythm.
It holds life, death, and rebirth.

When you reconnect with your womb space, you often reconnect with this spiral nature of existence:

  • allowing things to unfold in their timing
  • trusting that not everything is meant to be “solved” immediately
  • honoring the wisdom of returning

The spiral invites a different kind of power. Not force. Not control. But trust.

A deep trust in the intelligence of life moving through you.

In the world of plant medicine, this is often experienced directly, visions, emotions, and insights moving in waves, not lines.

In yoga, it’s felt in the breath and the body. In the moon, it’s seen in the sky. The spiral is everywhere.

And when you begin to live in alignment with it, something softens. You stop trying to rush your healing. You stop expecting yourself to be “done.”

Instead, you allow yourself to unfold. Layer by layer. Cycle by cycle. Like the spiral always has.
