I love to explore. I love to try new things, taste new flavors, walk new streets.
But here’s the truth: when I find something I really love… I tend to stay loyal.
Like the sushi at Vegan Way in Pokhara.
Or the vegan Indonesian takeaway from a little warung in Ubud that’s both delicious and affordable. Or getting vanilla or lemon ice cream: all the time!!
Why constantly change if it’s already perfect?
Sometimes, the peace of knowing where you’re going, what you’ll order, and how it will make you feel is worth more than chasing the next “new thing.”
For me, it’s not about avoiding adventure but it’s about honoring the small rituals that make life feel steady. These repeat visits become anchors.
They ease anxiety. They offer comfort in a world that’s always changing.
And they remind me that not all joy comes from exploring but some of it comes from the gentle familiarity of a favorite table, a favorite plate, a favorite walk to get there.
Being a creature of habit doesn’t make life smaller. It makes certain moments deeper.
Because when you return to the same place, you bring a new version of yourself each time.
In astrology, this is the medicine of the Earth element.
Earth teaches us stability, presence, and groundedness. It reminds us that not everything needs to be reinvented, some things simply need to be cherished.
When we return to familiar places and rituals, we give our bodies and hearts a chance to rest. We can then explore the world from a place of inner stability, not restlessness.
So, yes I’m a creature of habit.
And for me, that’s not boring.
That’s peace 𖦹
