This lady is an Indian yoga teacher with lots of experience and I recommend you to check out her Instagram. I will share a some of her insights based on pregnancy and yoga.
Q: if I am feeling really low in my first trimester and not waking up early what can I still do?
A: I hear you! The first trimester is usually full of lathery and nausea for some. Here are some things they can help: have a daily walking and gentle stretching routine, this is helpful. Be around people who uplift you. I picked up sewing and singing as a new practice that sparked energy in me. I could continue my Sadhana since I had no nausea but in your case daily 15 min of AUM chanting is very helps. Go ut with your partner/friends or family. Listen to 15-20 min of Satsang. This is so helpful.
Q: while I practice yoga I find it difficult before my period or on it, how can I remain consistent?
A: a woman’s energy level fluctuate throughout the month because of hormonal shifts. Before period starts it is important to show up on the mat but listen to the body. If it asks for slow movement, more breathing, and deeper asanas go for it. On period you can or rather should rest. Maybe just Supta Bhadhhakonasana and side lying savasana with deep breaths is helpful.
Q: how to prepare your body after miscarriage?
A: what body needs the most is rest, slow down and trust for it to heal. Giving a 2/3 month wait period. Gentle yoga, breathing, eating nourishing foods is a must. Most important is acceptance and showing trust towards th body. Involve your partner in all of the above.
Q: how do I cultivate yoga and spiritual practices in my young child?
A: you don have to. Just follow it yourself. Kids learn more bu observations and mimicking you rather than simple preaching. The more you do it: the more likely they are going to pick it up from you naturally. No wonder yog shastras say: focus on yourself and the rest will follow.
Q: does prenatal yoga guarantee a normal delivery?
A: let’s understand this. Yoga during pregnancy is a lot more than just a normal delivery approach. Yoga really helps mother manage pregnancy well physically, mentally, and emotionally. It does help in ensuring you go through vaginal delivery, however, birthing time is subjective to many things such as metal position, heartbeat, blood pressure of mother. There can be last minute complications which may lead to c-section. Regardless of delivery the ones who practice yoga manage pregnancy well and recovery is also better.
