sun astrology transit during my Vipassana retreat

Vipassana is a meditation technique taught in different centers around the world. This past summer I spend 10 days in a retreat center. This was an interesting experience.

During my time there (I planned it well I can say that) the sun made some beautiful transits. The sun was in Leo and past my 12th house.

The 12th house is the realm of: spiritual retreat, solitude, endings before new beginnings, the subconscious and hidden realms and mystical experiences.

So a 12th house transit is a perfect timing for spending some time meditating, without being able to talk and connect.

When the Sun moves through this house, especially in Leo, it illuminates your inner world. Vipassana perfectly aligns with this kind of energy: deep silence, withdrawal from outer life, and an inner “clearing out.”

Then I also have my Mercury in the 12th house, Mercury represents communication, the way we think, learning new things.

The 4th day the sun passed my natal Mercury, it was a time of mental clarity rising, illuminating unconscious thought patterns, receiving intuitive downloads or spiritual insights. Processing subconscious fears or beliefs (especially around being heard, understood, or expressing your truth).

In silence, Mercury doesn’t “speak” but it listens. So you things to experience include: unexpected memories resurfacing, deep internal communication with your inner child, past versions of yourself, or spirit.

As if that wasn’t enough, I later discovered that my progressed Sun was also conjunct my natal Mercury during this period. Progressions show our inner, evolving self and when the progressed Sun meets Mercury, there’s often a profound shift in awareness. It’s like the inner spotlight turns toward your mind, your voice, and your ideas. In a Vipassana setting, this means gaining a new perspective on how you think, recognising mental patterns you’ve outgrown, and feeling an emerging clarity about how you wish to communicate going forward. For me, this created a bridge between deep inner listening and the seeds of a clearer outer voice that will grow in the years ahead.

After this time the sun moved into Virgo in the last few days, this is still my 12th house but a different energy. It will pass my natal North Node in Virgo.

The North Node is your soul’s growth path, and this conjunction: marks an activation of higher potential, can bring insight into your soul mission and could help you release blocks on the path to becoming who you’re meant to be.

Virgo North Node themes: healing, service, embodiment, discernment: what to keep, what to shed and devotion to daily practice, rhythm, integrity.

Very profound timing! I share in another blogpost my personal experience but may this be an invitation to check your chart before embodying an adventure like this.
