the meaning of my sak-yant tattoo

On my upper back I have a very spiritual powerful tattoo. Designed and bamboo tattooed in Bangkok, Thailand. This one means a lot to me. I got it together with one of my close friends, Flora. They are similar but have different meanings.

I wanted to share what mine stands for in this blog post – what they shared with me and the deeper meaning I later researched.

There is a Diamond Armor. The diamond is strong element for Thai people. The armor is to protect your from the outside. Protect you from having negative mind set and other bad influences.

The diamond is one of the hardest substances on Earth – invulnerable and pure. In Sak Yant, it represents spiritual resilience, invincibility, and clarity of mind.

It forms a protective field around your aura. Think of it as a metaphysical shield that reflects harmful intentions, negative energy, and psychic attacks.

The armor is not just to “block” things – it also amplifies inner strength, confidence, and your ability to stay centered in chaos.

The unalome, it is a part of Sak Yant, but not the whole. The unalome represents guidance, intelligence, positive thinking and positive energy. It helps you find the right path in life and will help you make the good decision.

he unalome represents the journey toward enlightenment. Spirals = the twists of the path, the straight line = clarity and liberation. It’s like a cosmic compass in your design. It anchors wisdom from experience, turning pain into growth and confusion into insight.

The two letters on the side represent a help to focus and concentration. To not get distracted by the bad influences and negative energy.

They enhance mental discipline, repel distractions, and help you stay committed to your values.

There is a little sun and moon: for the balance of yourself.

The sun = masculine (solar) energy; the moon = feminine (lunar) energy. Together, they represent harmony between doing and being, fire and water, structure and flow. Having both creates wholeness. It prevents burnout (too much sun) or apathy (too much moon).

2 letters under the diamond armor stands for pulling in good people – pulling in good energies and receiving all the positive thinking coming to the self.

They strengthen your auric resonance, helping you naturally repel manipulative or draining energies, and instead attract allies, soul tribe, teachers, lovers, clients, protectors who align with your true path. It’s not just about people, but also opportunities, synchronicities, and blessings.

The bottom lines are the chanting script of your mental strength and the mental balance of yourself.

They’re energetically charged, often by the monk or ajarn who tattooed them. These act like energetic programming or spiritual affirmations in mantra form, etched into your body and field. They create a resilient mindset—when things go wrong, they help you come back to center.

I am so happy to have this tattoo as a form of protection, mental clarity and attraction for positivity.
