Happy birthday to me! After an intense solar return when I was 25 I was wishing for new energies to come. After experiencing an opposition in my chart between the 6th and 12th house – my natal nodes. I exploded inside my mind with twists and turns and thinking and considering.
3 weeks before my solar return I cut the opposition and I made a choice (yeeeey). I was exited for what was to come and very curious. This solar chart had a Scorpio AC – a shadow work year. Burn the old and do not look back.
This year started off strong, full of excitement. With my sun, Venus and Mercury in the 9th house I booked a new backpacking trip. I felt a calling to travel, learn, teach and evolve.
Saturn in the 4th exploded with a robbery in my house, health concerns for me which bounded me to my families house (roots) and multiple family members having health issues. This Saturn also made a conjunction with the IC, which created this very powerful dynamic. When all the drama happened it was a Mercury RX in Sagittarius which in my natal chart rules over my 4th house. Also my home sickness during the travel and feelings of maturity towards finding a place to live and settle down come from this placement I believe. Restructuring my sense of emotional safety and belonging.
The Uranus and Mars conjunct in Taurus in my 7th house made for very interesting connections and people that I met. There were big big lessons on boundary setting. I met a lot of unique and triggering people. Taking charge and initiative. Placing fierce boundaries and woke up my autonomy. Things were shaken up. They were also conjunct my DC, and interestingly enough I also met a lot of people from war zones, Israel, Pakistan, Ukraine and Russia.
Jupiter was in Gemini in my 7th house as well – opened me to many different types of people and helped me expand my view on love, partnership and intimacy. See perspectives and integrate duality.
The square with Mercury showed a challenge with my belief system, especially in the 9th house. Learning about religions and spiritual paths (courses in Buddhism and yoga and meeting interesting people, the books I read) – while forming my own views.
The MC in Virgo brought structure to my natal Gemini MC. I was able to plan, work and create truly a structure within my business and career plan. It is always important to keep the natal chart as leading, since this is your main blue print.
The Chiron and node in the 5th house in Aries, it was a year full of creative expression, finding my way in a bold and fire way. Be you, do not be afraid to show your creations. Cardinal and fire: outward, not afraid to speak what is my truth. Finding vulnerability in create expression, sensuality and love. Deep healing around self worth and visibility, owning my story, my power and my body.
The Neptune in the 5th house formed a way to express my spirituality. This made a trine with my natal sun in the 11th house in Cancer. So it was wonderful for my personal journey and brought me so much. Also all the things I learned with the courses I did and people I spoke to they helped me evolve my spiritual self expression. Dance, teaching yoga, writing – all medicines.
Additionally there was a sextile aspect from Neptune to Mars and Uranus, which again also the people that I met that were triggering and unique they had an influence on this spiritual self expression journey of mine. Visa versa as well, my self expression and my voice within spirituality had an influence on the people that I met – I made shifts, they shifted me and our conversations were very powerful.
The solar moon was in Capricorn, this made a trine with the MC in Virgo. This felt like working hard in a way that benefited both my inner world and my vision. Finding a flow. Knowing what to do to make it financially possible (moon in 2nd house), structure and hard work.
The moon also made a sextile with the Saturn in the 4th house, so actually the things that happened in December helped me with starting this business. I had to sit down and create the website. I had time at home and was recovering.
The theme of this year was definitely finding freedom, boundary setting and mainly listening to my own inner voice.
There is so much to unpack from a solar return chart. We can see the energies before our birthday and think – fun how is this going to play out. But then when we look back on the year, we truly know what happened and what placement created what scenarios on our paths.
Just to share a little bit of some of the things that happened to me while this solar was active. It is fun to reflect back and as an astrologer see what placements influenced what in your life. For you it can be beneficial what energies are powerful for the upcoming year, just to be aware and remind yourself what is happening astrologically.
Currently I am moving into a new solar energy of my 27th year on this earth. I see a Cancer AC, busy 1st house, 9th house and 12th house. Exited to see what this new energy portal will bring me!
