the four agreements – book – quotes & notes

The four agreements is a beautiful l book by the author of Don Miguel Ruiz and Janet Mills, they made a website with more information, I recommend you to read it.T

The agreements you make with yourself and I would say they are the perfect steps to create a more harmonious world – a world where there is peace and love all around.

With you I will share the four agreements down below, while also sharing my thoughts and ideas about them.

The first agreement is be impeccable with your word – words hold a lot of power, they are little spells we use throughout the day. to set limitations, to encourage us. all types of ways. Besides the little spells we put on ourselves, we also use them towards and about other people. with this agreement I interpret to not gossip, to talk friendly towards others, encouraging towards others and mainly be kind with your inner dialog and words to yourself. Especially Virgo placements are much in their own head and be very inner critical.

The second agreement is don’t take anything personally – when you realize that everyone is very much thinking about themselves. you realize you are just not that important in other peoples lives. often when people express themselves it is a reflection of their own inner world and struggles they face. It is a reflection of them rather then it is about you. so there is no need to take things personal. You are not under attack. usually fire signs, Leo in particularly, find it easy to take things personal.

The third agreement is don’t make assumptions – when people do not directly communicate something it is easy to fill in what they mean or think. we are conditioned to consider what is happening in their lives. But we do not know, and it is best to go in with an open mind. one great trick to tackle assumptions is questions. ask.

The fourth agreement is always do your best – once you will start using the agreements in your life you may realize that it can be difficult. the book finishes with the last agreement to keep going and just try your best. Even if not every day is the best.

You can feel inspired to keep these agreements or make different ones with yourself. Keep in mind that there is no failing, just lessons to be learned.
